An Update from Obby



We’ve been overwhelmed with support over the last few weeks. We’ve put $100,000 back into the pockets of all of the amazing local vendors on the GoodLocal platform. 

We’ve learned and grown and adapted- in just under two weeks, we’ve moved warehouses to accommodate the increase in orders and have done so at our own cost. Next week, we have 500 orders already queued up, and we want to make it the best delivery experience for our customers yet.

Because of our fast growth, we need to work on this. In a matter of weeks we went from delivering 18 orders to 700, and that scalability simply isn’t realistic with our current systems. 

As of midnight tonight, we have hit pause on processing any orders through the platform. This means we are not accepting any new orders for next week’s delivery, and anticipate we will resume accepting orders by December 7. 

Manitoba has shown us so much support, way more than we expected. While this decision is difficult and I know may cause some distress to you- it will allow us to provide better service for our customers, vendors and our staff. 

We’re going to take this time so we can come back stronger. 

We are proud that in our first month of operating we have put over $100,000 into Manitoba businesses. We’ve put 11 Manitobans back to work and we are still hiring. If you want to join GoodLocal as pickers, packers, delivery drivers, customer service, operations or sales, please let us know.
